Looks like actress Lakshmi Rai is going to be busy for the rest of the year. Apart from working in several Malayalam projects including Christian Brothers, Casanova and Yodha 2 with Mohanlal, the actress also has her hands full in Kollywood with Mankatha and Kanchana. We hear that the actress is now in Bangkok with the Mankatha team.
Venkat Prabhu is said to be shooting her introduction song (Vilayadu mankatha...) with Ajith, for which music has been composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja. A source close to the actress says that she has a lengthy role in the film. “Lakshmi plays an important role in the film and in a way, her character plays a vital role in taking the story forward,” the source adds.
Venkat Prabhu has tweeted, “Chilling in Bangkok with master Kalyan.” He has also said that Ajith will be joining them soon.
Meanwhile, Lakshmi is also working with Lawrence in Kanchana, a sequel to his earlier Muni. In an earlier interview, Lawrence had said, “I’ve retained most of the artistes from Muni in this film. I’ve roped in Lakshmi Rai to play a very important role.” With much to look forward to, there’s no denying this year is going to be an eventful one for the actress.
